Marc Evans is the acclaimed director of several feature films including the Sundance-selected HOUSE OF AMERICA which also won Best Film and Best Debut Director at the Stockholm International Film Festival; RESURRECTION MAN which won the Best British Film Award at Birmingham and screened at London, Hof, Cognac, Seattle and Foyle film festivals, starring Brenda Fricker and Stuart Townshend; MY LITTLE EYE, and TRAUMA starring Colin Firth and Mena Suvari. Evans' dramatic projects for television include the RUTH RENDELL MYSTERIES, starring Colin Firth, THICKER THAN WATER featuring Theresa Russell and Jonathan Pryce for the BBC, FRIDAY ON MY MIND and 1989'S THE GIFT. Evans has also directed several documentaries, two of which showcase his love of music: THE SLATE: MANIC ART about the popular Brit Pop group Manic Street Preachers and a feature-length John Cale music documentary with Super Furry Animals called BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE. Another doc, a feature-length 35mm piece on Welsh poetry called DAL YMA NAWR (STILL HERE NOW), won Spirit of the Festival Award at the Celtic Film and Television Festival and received five Welsh BAFTA nominations including Best Documentary. |
